One day. No Fossil fuels.

Every September 21, Zero Emissions Day calls for a 24-hour break from oil, gas, and coal.

The idea is simple: don't burn it, skip the drive, unplug what you can. (Emergency services run as usual.)

Ken Wallace, a UNESCO scientist coordinator, founded Zero Emissions Day in Nova Scotia in 2008. It’s now marked annually, globally, on the autumnal equinox, when day and night sit in balance.

No single initiative can fix the climate in one day, but the choices we make as individuals to limit fossil fuels add up to impactful change.
