Tuesday was a great day of seeing old friends and family as we celebrated 27 years at the helm of Menno Livestock. It was also a little bittersweet to close that chapter. Sincerest thanks to all who had a hand in putting the day together and for all who attended.

To help us not only commemorate that day but the last 27 years, we would appreciate if you would share any pictures and memories you've had with us over that time. This will be my last post on this page. With that we want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! REMEMBER.. BUY LOW AND SELL HIGH!! (Also, side note, Ken and I will be at the barn very part time during the transition.. Ken is only retiring from the sale barn and Lynn is too young (!!!) to retire from anything.. she's just going to be unemployed.. for now)

Couple of things- remember the Appreciation/Retirement open house for Ken on Tuesday December 20th- Sponsored by Northwest Veterinary and Supply & SD Pork Producers Council. Serving starts @ 11:00 am . and the sale will start at the usual 12:30 time. Be sure and come and wish Ken well! This will be the Wintersteen's last sale as owners of Menno Livestock. They say all good things must come to an end and I guess that’s where we’re at (this was the cheesiest to start this but I didn’t know how else to word it).

After 27 years, this good thing is coming to an end. It’s definitely not the way we wanted it to go but here we are. The barn will be under new ownership as of January 1st.

December 20th will be the last sale Ken does as owner. With that being said- come help us celebrate the end of this journey. Starting at 11 am at Menno Livestock on December 20th. Special thank you to Northwest Veterinary and Supply and SD Pork Producers Council for co-sponsoring this special event for Ken. Words cannot Express how awesome you are. Also I will post early consignments in the next post. We do have some fancy bred heifers, FDR lambs and also some RA steers!

Due to the icy roads in some of the surrounding areas we will not have a sale today at Menno Livestock. We will have our regular sale next Tuesday December 20. Later today I will post some early listings for next week!

Sounds like a real wet mixed bag of weather this week! We do have our regular sale tomorrow Tuesday Dec. 13th (but kind of keep a watch for weather related changes). We do have 50 HD hair lambs 100-120 #, 5 HD 550 # opportunity calves. Depending on the weather more listings expected by sale time.
