After watching a YouTube video tutorial on Beginner’s Method, he spent three hours and finally solved the cube for the first time. After that first solve, he continued solving and got his time down to one hour, then fifteen minutes, and by the time he went back to school he was able to consistently solve in under five minutes. As his solve times continued dropping, Nico began posting videos of his
solves. A toy and game store owner inside a local farmer’s market invited Nico to come into his shop to solve cubes. Nico took the job and began appearing at the store weekly, performing hundreds of timed solves for customers. Soon Nico purchased his own stock of cubes and began selling and solving cubes in his own space outside at the farmer’s market. He wrote an overview that explained how he learned to solve and how others could follow the same methods. This overview was included with each cube sold. This was the beginning of That Cube Kid. Soon other stores invited That Cube Kid to appear. Nico also became a vendor at local craft fairs and events. In the Fall of 2019, That Cube Kid began selling cubes online – first through direct mail order, then on the business’ eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/usr/that_cube_kid
By the start of Winter 2019, That Cube Kid began work on its own video tutorial for Beginner’s Method and launched its YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnKvKiWl5Qfkgx41D3MYAKw
In February of 2020, Nico competed in his first World Cubing Association hosted event in Princeton. That Cube Kid continues to appear at local businesses and events around south Jersey.
