A great reminder that culture isn’t what’s written on the wall—it’s what you feel when you walk through the door. We recently had the opportunity to visit The Rag Company’s headquarters in Boise, and I was so impressed. A bonus was sharing with our cousins from Kansas, Beth and James. James was definitely in his element with detailing experts.

The energy, pride and enthusiasm of the team were obvious. People genuinely seemed to enjoy their work, enjoy one another, and believe in what they are building. A special thank you to my friend and CEO, Carolyn Hennen, who was incredibly gracious and took the time to give us a personal tour.

At Credible Advantage, I spend a lot of time talking with leaders about culture, employee engagement and the impact leadership has on an organization. It’s always refreshing to see those principles come to life in a thriving Idaho company. I love love love the quality of their microfiber towels for my showers. Thanks, Carolyn, for opening your doors and sharing a little of your culture with us! It has been fun watching your business grow from your garage to where it is today. And, of course, we couldn't leave without getting more microfiber cloths.

The single least desirable issue to tackle for leaders is DRAMA within their organization. It robs us of joy, reduces efficiency, and kills a desired culture of accountability and fun. One of my most demanded presentations is Stomping Out Drama and leaders need culture resets to effectively tackle this, but it is possible and to see great results when proactively addressed in a kind manner. Give your employees the tools to get out of drama today and bring more joy to getting the work done. Equip your rescuers to help the victims solve their own problems. Imagine how your credibility will go up when you address drama int he workplace the right way.
