That deep blue in antique glass? Cobalt. But the real story is what it does inside metal — cobalt hardens jet engine parts, carbide tooling and drill bits so they survive heat that would ruin ordinary steel. It's also a key ingredient in lithium batteries.

Why you should care: cobalt-bearing alloy and carbide scrap is one of the highest-paying things a shop can bring us. Worn carbide inserts, drill bits, saw tips and tool steel offcuts are worth far more than the mixed-metal bin.

As many of you may already know we’ve been experiencing some construction on Colorado as soon as you turn off of RT 30. Below are some alternate routes that may make your commute a little easier!

Route #1: if you’re headed east on RT 30/81st Ave the best suggestion is turning off onto “Mall Entrance 5” near Target and Home Depot and cutting through the Home Depot parking lot.

Route 2: if you’re headed west on RT 30/81st Ave best suggestion would be to use RT 30 service road near Urban Air Adventures and Xfinity around out onto Colorado.
