Well we got a big bubble last night but it’s fixable. We’re firing the top layer alone to set the paint this time. Both pieces will be part of a memorial stone on Copper’s grave.

I’m working on the first window for a greenhouse that will be built this year.

The last of 6 glass panels is in the kiln tonight. Pretty happy so far but lots of other glass methods will be used because fused glass is pricey!! This one window will cost $70 in clear glass and a week of kiln time. Still, it’s exciting and tomorrow I’ll be picking out the paint for the wood. It’s a fun project.

Been playing in my happy place, the 3rd panel for window #1 is in the kiln tonight. My vision for the greenhouse is eclectic, each window will be different from all the others. I hope it turns out as pretty as I imagine.

We’ve started the glass panels for the greenhouse. Barely started. Wishing we had a larger kiln.

Excitement is building. I bought a truckload of old windows 3 years ago.

I’ve been silently planning since.

My husband and son said they’d build me a greenhouse. I’ve been researching. Apparently ventilation is crucial. Light is crucial. Condensation can wreck havoc, not just rot wood but stop plants from absorbing nutrients. The greenhouse must be large enough to balance nature. Seems 12x20 is the size needed because I want to grow year round. The top tier of windows must tilt so during the day the greenhouse can be vented. If not, the wood will rot.

The best color to paint the wood is white, but the windows must be properly prepared.

So what is the most exciting part? I’m a stained glass and fused glass artist. I’ve researched how to incorporate my art in my greenhouse. Got it. Just wait, my greenhouse will be logically planted but artistically finished. Truly can’t wait!!

I needed to make the studio safe so I don’t fall, therefore I’ve been organizing for months. Thankfully my family helped and I’m happy with the results, ready to start creating again.
