Did you know…ripe coffee cherries can be both red and yellow? In this picture we have the yellow Colombia Variety & red Caturra variety. Caturra is a dwarf tree with concentrated produce, capable of high yields while Colombia Variety is the offspring of the former, bred for high yields and better resistance to leaf rust. We cooked, we drank, we chatted, but most importantly we had a moment to appreciate the beauty of a collective group. I strive for these moments in life, looking forward to the next!!

A huge shoutout to my farmers for processing this order of 2100kg (4,620 lbs) for our stateside client. It has been our biggest project yet, one with many new learning experience and challenges. The weather has been one of our biggest obstacles, with excessive rainfall impacting drying capabilities and even logistics with farm access roads being blocked. At the tail end of it as the coffee is being prepped for export, I couldn’t be more proud of what these guys have accomplished. Thank you all ❤️

Multi cropping- in addition to coffee trees, many farmers will include other produce in there land such as plantains, avocados, lemons, etc. Not only is this another source of income, but it helps the overall agricultural environment. The trees provide deep roots for combating soil erosion and in addition to shading the coffee crop from excess sunlight. All of these agricultural add ons bring home to the birds as well.
