Paragon was founded as a family business in 1948 by Frances Darby and her husband, J.J. In 1982 John R. Hohenshelt bought the assets of the company from Frances Darby and formed a new organization under the Paragon name. Today, Paragon Industries, L.P. is the leading manufacturer of electric kilns for ceramics, glass, porcelain, pottery, heat treating and metal art clay. Paragon kilns are proudly made in America by master kiln builders. Many of them have been with us for over 20 years. The 52,000-square-foot factory and the 20,000-square-foot secondary building are a block south of Highway 80 at the Town East Blvd. exit. Here you will find over 70 full time employees, including two engineers and five customer service representatives. We pride ourselves on the friendliness that is the hallmark of Mesquite, Texas. Together with over 200 experienced distributors world wide, we deliver the most extensive electric kiln and furnace line in our markets. Parts (especially heating elements) are available even for kilns made during the 1960s.
