The 16th Annual Economic & Real Estate Forecast Symposium was a full room, a sharp lineup and a clear message: New Orleans has momentum, and the people who show up prepared will build on it.
Huge thanks to Cameron Lombardo and Mignon Richard Diaz, and to Gulf Coast Bank & Trust, CID and NOMAR for pulling it together. Ruth Lawson, Newell Normand, Drew Remson and Mike Sherman kicked things off asking where the momentum is. Michael Hecht, Josh Fleig, Aimee Quirk, Andy Kopplin and Keith Schneider closed with how we build opportunity across Louisiana.
What I’m taking back to my clients: the market has options at every level. Entry-level inventory under $200k is tight, so well-priced homes move. Above $200k, buyers have real choices and room to negotiate. Homeowners are sitting on serious equity, with a projected median net worth of $446k versus $12k for renters. And the buyer pool is changing fast, with more solo buyers, co-buyers and first-timers entering later in life.
Change creates opportunity, and this market is full of it.
