Do you see yourself staying in public accounting long term, or are you curious about what an in-house tax career could look like?

We're partnering with one of our longest-standing clients on a rare corporate tax opportunity. Over the past 20 years, we've helped build their team, and the professionals we've placed there have not only stayed, they've grown, with every one of them earning at least one promotion during their tenure.

This role offers exposure to federal and state income tax, ASC 740 tax provisions, indirect taxes, audits, tax depreciation, and international operations. It also works closely with Accounting, Finance, and Treasury, providing visibility across the organization.

In-house tax opportunities like this don't come around often in our market, especially with a company known for developing talent and building long-term careers.

Jennifer attended the Junior Achievement USA Business Hall of Fame event presented by LCMC Health last week, where the theme of the night centered on a powerful mission: over a million students impacted and still growing across Greater New Orleans.

Congratulations to Aulston Taylor, Junior Achievement of GNO Business Hall of Fame 2026 Laureate. Aulston is pictured alongside his wife, Sevetri Wilson Taylor, and also brought one of his 9th grade students on stage with him to help build his confidence early, giving him exposure to a room full of business leaders and reinforcing what hard work and opportunity can lead to.

Grateful to Lynne Burkart for the invitation to join at your EA table with Jackie Sullivan and Tim McCarthy, and for including me in such a meaningful evening.

The best feedback is hearing that the process felt seamless from start to finish.

We work hard to make sure candidates feel prepared, informed, and supported through every step of a search, because making a career move should feel exciting for the right reasons. Hearing this kind of feedback reminds us why the details matter.

One of the best parts of recruiting is hearing how things are going after the placement is made.

Earlier in the day, I left a voicemail for a client to check in and see how our recent hire was settling into the team. By chance, we ran into each other that night at the Junior League of New Orleans event, and she couldn't wait to share the update in person.

Tifferney told me these first few days have been incredible and that there have already been so many signs they made the right hire. My favorite example? The office stocks our candidate's favorite coffee beans. Sometimes it's the little things that make a new opportunity feel like the perfect fit.

A huge thank you to Jennifer Bernard for making the introduction that brought us together. And congratulations to the team at the Louisiana Children's Museum on a successful match. Wishing everyone continued success as they grow together!

One of our clients recently made a hire that reminded us how much recruiting is about relationships and trust, not just resumes.

From the very first interview, he had a strong feeling this candidate was the right fit. Even so, he continued the search process to make sure he wasn’t making a decision too quickly. After meeting additional candidates, his original instinct proved right.

What makes this one even more meaningful is that we’ve worked with this client before at a previous company. When he stepped into a new organization and needed to build out his team, he called us again.

That’s the part of recruiting we value most. Not just helping companies make great hires, but building long-term relationships where clients trust us enough to bring us with them throughout their careers.

Congratulations to both sides on a great match.

Big news for future CPAs in Louisiana!

The path to becoming a CPA is evolving, and the profession is becoming more accessible for aspiring accounting talent. Louisiana has updated its CPA licensure framework as part of the broader movement toward alternative pathways beyond the traditional 150-hour route.

For years, the extra education requirement created a major barrier for many talented candidates entering public accounting. Now, more states are recognizing that real-world experience matters too.

What this means:
• More flexibility for accounting graduates
• A potentially faster path into the profession
• More opportunities for firms struggling to find talent
• A stronger pipeline for the next generation of CPAs

The accounting industry has been talking about the talent shortage for years. This is a meaningful step toward addressing it.

Curious to see how firms and candidates adapt over the next few years.
