The most useful habit you can develop to help you reach all your equine goals this year?

At the top, blue ribbons are won and lost over fractions of points. Some details that will help you earn fractions of points when it counts?

✓ Vet work - Serviceably sound doesn’t win. Your horse is a professional athlete. Treat it that way.
✓ Farrier Visits - Timing matters! Talk to your farrier about optimal timing after shoeing for preformance. An easy fractional add on here!
✓ Travel - Sure, it costs a little less to fly into the horse show on the red eye… but you are going to operate differently than if you got a full nights rest before the show. (The same goes for your horse).
✓ Training - Identify weaknesses months ahead of your destination horse show so you can work to perfect them before the week of the show, and not days ahead.
✓ Don’t wait until the week before to check tack, reserve hotel rooms, or buy extra hay and grain. It is in these moments that “emergencies” happen and you are suddenly heading to the horse show with a different type of hay than your horse eats because your supplier ran out the week before the show! (Fractional loss!)
