Starfighters Space is excited to announce the next phase for STARLAUNCH, our air-launch program: we are advancing our STARLAUNCH 1 toward a planned captive-carry flight in December.

The mission would move our program into flight testing, helping us test aircraft integration with our F-104 jets and build toward drop testing and powered flight, another important step forward for STARLAUNCH.

It was exciting to see the F-104 and other incredible aircraft take the skies over Midland Spaceport Business Park this weekend! ✈️

Starfighters Space, located at Midland Spaceport Business Park, brought its historic F-104 aircraft to the 35th Annual AIRSHO. They operate the world’s only commercial fleet-ready Mach 2+ F-104 aircraft, using them for high-speed research, testing, and next-generation aerospace applications.

We’re proud to see Midland’s aerospace and aviation community continue to grow!

Today, we took flight at the High Sky Wing AIRSHO in Midland, Texas, right in the backyard of our new hangar. ✈️

Starfighters Space announced it is collaborating with Vaya Space to evaluate Vaya’s Vortex-Hybrid rocket engine for our STARLAUNCH air-launch system and explore flying hypersonic test articles aboard our Wind Tunnel in the Sky service.

Starfighters Space announced it is collaborating with The Bionetics Corporation to integrate and process a series of pathfinder small payloads for missions aboard our F-104 aircraft.

Bionetics will collaborate with Starfighters to prepare multiple classes of small payloads using Bionetics’ resources within the Space Life Sciences Lab at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport.

These pathfinder missions will help establish a repeatable process for preparing, flying, and recovering payloads, laying the groundwork for future high-speed flight and air-launch missions. This partnership will also help us determine the array of equipment and services required for our future Wind Tunnel in the Sky and STARLAUNCH missions.
