“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” — Dolly Parton
I’ve been reflecting a lot this week, and somewhere along the way I realized I might be a much bigger Dolly Parton fan than I ever gave myself credit for. 🤍 ✨
Of course, I’ve always loved Dolly. I love her faith, her authenticity, her humor, and the fact that she has never tried to be anything other than exactly who she is.
But the more I learn about the way she’s lived her life, the more I realize it’s the intention behind it all that resonates with me.
She built businesses. She created multiple streams of income. She used her success to help other people. She invested in her community. She found ways to make people feel seen, even sending personal videos and gifts to people she had never met simply because she knew it would mean something to them.
She built something big without losing the human part of it.
And I think that’s what hit me.
When I started Stephanie Jo & Co., I wasn’t trying to fit into a traditional mold of what a business “should” look like. I knew what I was good at. I knew I loved helping people. I knew I could see the missing pieces in a business and figure out how to bring them together. And I wanted to build something that gave me the freedom to keep creating, evolving, connecting, and finding new ways to serve.
Maybe there’s something really powerful about simply figuring out who you are, leaning into what you naturally do well, and then doing it on purpose. Not because it looks like everyone else’s version of success. Because it looks like yours.
Turns out Dolly may have been giving me business advice all along. 🤍
