Originally from Nagua, Dominican Republic, Dayanny fell in love with cooking through her grandmother, Elvira, affectionately known as "Mama Vira," who would be in the kitchen baking fresh bread or cooking rice and beans. She took up a hospitality degree from the Dominican Republic's Universidad Central del Este, and then later on, a masterโs degree in culinary arts from Grand Rapids Community College.
In 2017, she joined the Centerplate at Hard Rock Stadium, the global entertainment destination for Miami Dolphins, University of Miami football games, and the Miami Open.
In 2020, she became the first female head chef-- and Latina-- to lead the Super Bowl's culinary program. She and her team fed over 25,000 people, in seven kitchens, 25 concession stands, 167 suites, and seven all-inclusive clubs and restaurants!
Previously, Dayanny worked as executive sous chef for the Miami Heat at American Airlines Arena, where she opened The Flagship Lounge.
Above all, Dayanny is a mother of three. She is also an ovarian cancer survivor. In an interview with Voyage Mia, she shares that "I am here today to keep pushing the glass ceiling and break out of what is considered normal in the culinary world of Sports and Entertainment."
