It’s been a while. Life’s been complex. It’s nice to sit down and unwind with a glass of Rare Breed Barrel Proof bourbon and Serie G cigar.
For this post we’re going to focus on the whiskey. The pairing is fantastic but we’ll cover the stick later.
Nose
We pick up a lot of caramel and vanilla with a hint of rye spice.
Palate
It’s sweet and smooth with caramel, vanilla, and rye spices coming up. There’s a little bit of maltiness which adds more to the way it lands on the palate than the flavor.
Finish
Medium-long with a lasting sweetness. The rye spice sticks around on the tip of tongue.
Overall, Rare Breed is everything you’d expect from a great a Kentucky straight bourbon.
