While the national administration rolls back Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, Washington continues to demonstrate what inclusive leadership can look like.
Convened an inspiring group of women leaders for “Women Leading the Future,” a conversation focused on leadership, civic engagement, representation, and the importance of building a more diverse and inclusive future for Washington.
It was a privilege to hear from Senator Manka Dhingra, Senator Vandana Slatter, Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson, Representative Davina Duerr, Redmond Mayor Angela Birney, King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci, Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn, Snohomish County Sheriff Susanna Johnson, Northshore School District Director Hân Trần, and WA Democrats Chair Shasti Conrad.
All our leaders brought a distinct experience and perspective to the conversation, highlighting the value of ensuring that women and diverse voices are represented at the decision-making table and in positions of public leadership.
Special thanks to Congresswoman Suzan DelBene for sharing her perspective on the importance of recognising women’s leadership and strengthening civic engagement across our communities.
Thank you to all the leaders, community members, and supporters who joined us and contributed to a meaningful conversation about representation, participation, and the future of leadership in Washington.
As the LD1 DEI Committee, we look forward to creating more opportunities to bring people together, elevate diverse voices, and strengthen leadership across our communities.
More to come. Stay tuned.
