The Uncommon, Unfinished Men proudly recognizes Michael J. Fox as an Uncommon, Unfinished Man and presents him with our Standing on Shoulders Award.

This honor is reserved for individuals whose courage, sacrifice and service have created a stronger foundation for others to stand upon.

Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at only 29 years old, Michael J. Fox could have allowed that diagnosis to define his future. Instead, he turned a personal battle into a global movement for hope, research and healing.

Through the Michael J. Fox Foundation, he has helped direct more than $2 billion toward Parkinson’s research, accelerated the search for better treatments and given a powerful voice to people and families living with the disease.

Michael has never pretended that the journey is easy. He has spoken honestly about the falls, setbacks and daily challenges. Yet he continues to stand—with courage, gratitude, humor and an unwavering belief that progress is possible.

His life reminds us that being unfinished does not mean being incomplete. It means there is still more work to do, more people to serve and more hope to give.
