If you've been following Florida news, you've probably seen the stories: solar companies going out of business, leaving customers stuck with panels on their roof and nobody to call.

Over 100 solar companies have shut down since 2023, including one of the largest national installers this April. When a traditional installer goes under, homeowners are often left with equipment they own but can't service, and loans they still owe.

Summer 2026 in Texas broke the grid demand record. 91+ GW on July 22, up from the previous record of 85.5 GW in 2023.

What carried it: solar and battery storage, together contributing 35 to 45% of generation during daylight peaks. Every rooftop with solar panels and a battery is part of that number.

Less consumption (goodbye to nighttime AC) plus still-high production (days are still sunny) = the lowest bills of the year for many Terra homes. It's when the model looks most obvious.

Locked-in savings isn't the same as savings today. It's the gap that opens between your rate and the utility rate over time.

FPL rates are approved to climb every year through 2029. Terra subscription rates are set at signing, with annual increases capped at under 2%. Year one, the gap is small. Year four, it's much bigger.

If you're selling a Florida home with Terra panels, three questions the realtor will probably ask.

Is there a lien? No. Does the buyer have to assume a 25-year contract? No. Can the panels be removed? Yes, at no cost to you.

The buyer has two clean paths: assume the subscription, or let us end it and remove the system. DM us if you're planning to sell this year.
