Veru Announces Clinical Supply Agreement with Novo Nordisk for Phase 2b PLATEAU Study.

“We appreciate Novo Nordisk providing Wegovy® clinical supply for our Phase 2b PLATEAU study. The study will evaluate the use of enobosarm, an investigational therapy, in combination with a GLP‑1 receptor agonist in older patients with obesity to explore its potential impact on weight loss, body composition and physical function over 68 weeks,” said Mitchell Steiner, M.D., Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Veru.

Veru was featured in The Athletic, a New York Times company, in an article examining GLP-1s, muscle loss, and the evolving debate around performance enhancement in sports.

The article highlights a key issue in GLP-1 weight loss: muscle loss. Veru is working to address this clinical challenge through enobosarm as an adjunctive therapy with GLP-1 drugs to help preserve lean muscle.

Veru’s CEO, Dr. Mitchell Steiner, was quoted in the article discussing enobosarm.

GLP-1s are not prohibited; the way they work means they might never be. Anti-doping authorities are still monitoring how athletes use them.
