It was so good to connect with my first ‘bike friend” on his podcast. (The link to the podcast is in my stories today)
I know we’ve both grown so much but I don’t think the full scope of that hit me until I listened to the podcast on Spotify today - holy smokes lol!
I forgot that it was only a few short years ago that this love affair with bikes began for me. At the time, I was doing marketing for various different industries (medical, arts + design, etc) that I didn’t have passion for but it paid the bills and felt easy enough to do. Even though I worked for myself, I remember at the end how miserable and bored I was. I remember saying to myself that “I wanted my biggest problems of the day to be about bikes” .
Not too long after this, I found myself living that exact statement and continue to live that now. It was damn risky to switch careers to a male dominated industry with no prior bike mech/tech experience but I am SO glad I did. My days are far from perfect but I can tell you my biggest problems are about bikes or something bike related, almost every day.
This is your ONE life that you get so live it like you mean it. Do what fuels your passion instead of the one that pacifies your fear of the unknown.
