Not all pedestrian crossings happen at intersections. Midblock crossings—where people cross between intersections to reach bus stops, businesses, and parks—are common but can be 40% more dangerous.

That’s why the Broward Safety Action Plan (BSAP) created the Midblock Crossing Action Plan to make these crossings safer and more predictable. By adding crossings where needed most, slowing vehicle speeds, improving lighting, and implementing safety countermeasures, we can reduce risks and save lives.
