There’s a noticeable shift that happens when a student reaches the point of flying without an instructor on board. For Christian Hernandez, that moment arrived with his FIRST SOLO, marking an important step built through consistent training, preparation, and good decision-making.

There’s a special sense of accomplishment that comes with stepping out to the aircraft knowing the next takeoff and landing will be yours alone. Manuel Parra recently completed his FIRST SOLO, marking a meaningful moment in his flight training journey.

Taking the controls for the first time offers a completely new perspective, and Thomas Basan embraced every moment of that experience during his DISCOVERY FLIGHT with us. From preflight preparation to seeing South Florida from above, this introduction to aviation provided a firsthand look at what flight training is all about.

Exploring the fundamentals of flying is often where curiosity turns into a genuine passion, and it was a pleasure to share that experience with Thomas. We look forward to seeing where this journey may lead next.

Just about a year ago, they were stepping out of the airplane after their FIRST SOLO. Swipe through and you’ll see how far they’ve come since then. Today they’re both CFIIs, standing on the other side of the lesson and passing on everything they’ve learned to a new group of students.
 
That kind of growth in such a short time doesn’t go unnoticed around here. Watching the two of you develop as pilots and as instructors has been something special for our whole team.
