So here's the thing ......(Part II)...
We established that we need to know our metrics. Buying traffic at 50 cents per visitor. Converting them into a subscriber through our Optin page at 50% optin rate. That means that every subscriber cost us 1.00. Now we need to recoup that money and make a profit. We send them to an offer that gives us an average EPC of 1.00 per visitor and we break even (provided that it is true). Then we make our profits through our ongoing email sequence.
Ok, that's the basic idea. What strategies can we use to improve our metrics?
We could try to buy solo ad traffic for less than 50 cents per visitor (without losing the quality of the traffic). In general, 30 to 35 cents per visitor is very possible.
Another way to reduce the cost of traffic is to use free traffic sources (or software apps that only have a one time up front cost). But this depends on your time available.
Another way is to use other PAID traffic sources that are less than 30 to 35 cents per visitor (FB, Google Ads) but this depends on your level of knowledge. So you may have to pay for training.
Ok, leaving traffic aside, what else can you do?
You can tweak your optin page to get higher conversion rate. For most people, their optin page converts at around 25 to 30% but getting it above 50% is not only possible but likely if you know what you are doing. One key element is to make your optin page match your target market for traffic. That is usually the biggest factor here.
Another thing that you can do is increase your commissions on the offer you are making. Yes, it is an affiliate offer but you can choose which affiliate offer to make to your subscribers. Most will pay you 100% on the front end (otherwise why would you promote them?) and 50% on the rest of the funnel. That is basic. If they don't offer that, why use them? But you can also get license rights for very little money ($99 to $299 usually) that will give you 100% on the entire funnel and 50% on the back end High Ticket Item. Once you prove that the funnel is working for you, that may be a good way to go.
Another thing you can do with your offer is to make sure it is not an evergreen product but rather in launch mode. That means that it is usually cheaper than normal and has urgency and scarcity built in.
Finally, you can also improve your email sequence by adding a story element to your emails. Never just copy and paste someone else's emails. Use them as inspiration or a template and add your own personality and story. Many simple things that happen to you daily can have a connection to what you are talking about and promoting. Look for the connections. Don't just sell products. Relate to people. Build a relationship. Let them in to your life.
