This notice is a reminder that all health insurers, managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and other health entities must comply with provisions of section 252.358, Florida Statutes, which allows for early prescription refills when the Governor issues an Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency. This mandate remains in effect until the Governor’s Executive Order is rescinded or expires.

FLORIDA WEATHER BULLETIN: Storm emergency —

Gov. Ron DeSantis just signed Executive Order 26-202, declaring a state of emergency for 25 Florida counties ahead of Tropical Depression Nine.

The Gulf system is forecast to reach Category 2 strength by Friday, with potential landfall between Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle late Friday or Saturday.

The Panhandle could face heavy rain and severe storms beginning Friday, adding to already saturated ground. The storm’s track and intensity remain uncertain.

Please be safe panhandle residents. Keep an eye on your local forecast and follow all evacuation instructions should they go into effect.

We are nearing the end of the 2026 Hurricane season so everyone should have their preparedness plans in place.

Charge your phone batteries and backup batteries.

Fill you fuel tank.

Insurance advice:

Have your insurance policy safely scanned to the cloud or in a water tight container.

Take photos/video of the inside and outside of your property before any weather event, then immediately after.

If you have damage report your claim and keep notes.

Don't sign contracts with anyone until you confirm they are licensed to perform the services you may require. Always hire a Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters member if you need claim assistance.

Atlantic Coast is ordered to immediately cease to act or hold itself out to be an insurer in Florida and shall cease soliciting or accepting new or renewal business in Florida. Florida agents please be aware of this suspension and halt any future contracts between the company and Florida consumers. Please note, continuing any further transactions with this company will be financially hazardous to policyholders and likely constitute a violation of Florida law.
