Here are some tips to keep your pool clean and enjoy a healthy and pleasant swim:🏊
💧Clean the surface and bottom of the pool with a manual or automatic pool cleaner. This will prevent dirt from accumulating and becoming a breeding ground for algae and bacteria. It is advisable to do this at least once a week.
💧Measure and adjust the pH of the water with a comparator kit or test strips. The pH is the measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the water, and it must be between 7.2 and 7.6 for chlorine and sanitizers to be effective. If the pH is too high, you can use a pH reducer; if it is too low, you can use a pH increaser.
💧Add chlorine to the water to kill microorganisms that can cause illness or irritation. The chlorine level should be between 0.5 and 1 parts per million (ppm). You can use slow-acting chlorine, which dissolves slowly in the water and keeps the chlorine level constant, or fast-acting chlorine, which acts immediately and is used for shock treatments.
💧Use an anti-algae product to prevent the appearance of green, yellow or black algae on the pool walls and bottom. Algae can cloud the water, clog the filter and reduce the effectiveness of chlorine. The algaecide is applied once a week, preferably in the evening, and is distributed over the entire surface of the water.
