It takes a village. Let you partner be your sidekick, not your servant

Dad’s aren’t just snack b****es.

I just saw a post about what a “dad’s role in breastfeeding” is.
It showed the dad as a butler brining water, phone, and the remote to the nursing mom. While I get the joke, I don’t think this perpetuates a healthy view of what a dad’s role truly is.

Many moms and dads choose to not breastfeed BECAUSE they think this is how it is and dads desperately want to be involved!

They’re so much more than a snack/ water delivery service.

They’re support, they hug you when you’re up crying trying to get the baby to latch.

They’re helping you remember what the LC taught you during the 5th feed of the night when you’re so tired you can barely stay awake.

They help you gently push your baby’s chin down so you can get a good latch because you just don’t have enough hands!

They tell you you’re doing a good job when you feel like you’re about to give up.

Dads can make and break breastfeeding relationships.

Their role should not be discounted.

April is c-section awareness month. I myself had an emergency c-section after 11 hours of labor. It was NOT easy emotionally ,nor physically. I cried for months after the fact. I felt as if I was not present for my baby's birth, yet had all the pain for proof that I was.
*Do not assume that c-sections are always the choice of the mother.
*Do not assume it is the 'easy' way out. Getting up every 2 hrs to feed a crying newborn, all the while with stitches across your body, is no fun.
♡however, a safe delivery is the best delivery♡

Your body knows your baby's particular needs and changes daily for 2 years to make sure they are met.
