Cada 20 de octubre se conmemora el Día Internacional del Chef, una fecha que instauró la Asociación Mundial Culinaria, para rendir homenaje a todos los encargados de crear los platos más exquisitos del mundo.

La palabra chef viene del francés y significa jefe de cocina. El chef no es solo la persona encargada de dirigir la cocina de un restaurante, también es el encargado de educar el paladar de sus ayudantes y enseñarles a elaborar platos magistrales con su toque personal.
