Repudiation Letter Date: 21 September 2026
Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Pushkar Agarwal, Founder of Bandhel Jewellery Private Limited, am writing this email as a final formal demand for clarification, disclosure of evidence and reconsideration of the repudiation of our motor insurance claim.
We purchased the insurance policy, including Engine Shield/Engine Protection cover as specified in our policy schedule, to protect our vehicle against covered risks. We paid the applicable premium in good faith and expect the claim to be assessed fairly, transparently and in accordance with the policy terms.
Our Mahindra Alturas G4 encountered a water-related incident on 25 July 2026. The vehicle stopped in the waterlogged area, and we have video recordings relating to the incident and the circumstances in which the vehicle stopped. We state that these recordings were provided to the surveyor/investigator for consideration.
Nevertheless, SBI General repudiated our claim by alleging that the reported circumstances and the physical engine damage did not corroborate each other and that relevant facts had been suppressed or represented differently.
We strongly dispute this conclusion and request the objective technical evidence on which it is based.
1. Demand for documentary proof of the repudiation
If SBI General maintains that the engine was not damaged due to water ingress, please provide the complete technical and documentary evidence supporting that conclusion.
Specifically, please provide:
1. The complete final survey report and any supplementary survey report.
2. The surveyor's full name, qualifications, applicable licence/registration details, inspection date and report submission date.
3. All inspection photographs, videos, notes and diagnostic records relied upon.
4. The engine-oil inspection findings and any water-contamination test results.
5. The results of any inspection of the air intake, airbox, intake pipe, turbocharger/intercooler and cylinders.
6. Any borescope, compression or leak-down test results, if performed.
7. Findings relating to the reported abnormal engine noise and any crankshaft, connecting-rod or bearing damage.
8. Any OBD/ECU diagnostic report and any relevant transmission, transfer case or differential inspection records.
9. The investigator's report and relevant technical correspondence relied upon for repudiation.
10. The specific evidence supporting the allegation of suppression or misrepresentation, identifying exactly what information is alleged to be false or withheld.
If any of these tests were not performed, please identify which tests were omitted, why they were considered unnecessary, and what technical basis was used to determine the cause and extent of the engine damage.
