SHIRLEY EATON, THE PAINTED "GOLDEN GIRL".
"One of cinema's most iconic moments is when Sean Connery's James Bond awakens from being knocked out, walks into a hotel's bedroom and finds the lady he was with, Shirley Eaton's Jill Masterson, sprawled out on the bed, naked, dead and painted head to toe in gold paint. It's a truly stunning moment. "I only had two scenes with Sean Connery," said Eaton, "who was attractive and studious. It was only a week's worth, so I never imagined that the film and my role would have such a lifelong iconic existence."
"Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can't disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death from Mistahhh Goldfinger....
Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold
This heart is cold."

The PBS national-television Special entitled "Boomers Up No Excuse" (photo, above, is from that show) - which is also a keynote speech by Chuck Underwood for executive audiences - calls for Boomer corporate executives to halt the slaughter of the once-great American Middle Class, which had been made great by the G.I. Generation Leadership Era of the 1950s-1980s, but which regrettably the Silent Generation Leadership Era of the 1990s and 2000s reduced to rubble, in favor of executive and board director greed and ruthlessness.

But when Chuck Underwood presented this same message in a Washington, D.C. keynote speech to an audience of corporate board directors, one Boomer director asked this essential question. He said:

"I can see how the G.I.'s - who came of age with the Great Depression and WWII - held a strong core value of "we're all in this together, so let's truly and always take care of each other"... which their generation's leaders did. But have the Boomers, now taking their turn at the top, had it too soft? Have they had it so easy they'll now just take the money and run, and continue to lay off workers whenever it will please shareholders and thus get those Boomer executives a bigger year-end bonus and raise for next year, as Silent leaders so often did?"

The answer to that question will determine whether America revives itself or continues its downward path to calamity.

And the news media avoid placing blame on corporate leaders, because corporate leaders might respond to any such "out'ing" by halting their company's advertising expenditures with any newspaper or television network that criticizes them. And so the masses are cheated of the truth.

Who is the one high-profile CEO who will step up, embrace The Executive Pledge, prove that he or she is TRULY willing to stand on the same side of the fence as the employees, and compel contemporaries to do the same?

Foxhole Leadership: taken from The Greatest Generation of World War Two honor and brotherhood, Foxhole Leadership today is a pledge from the boss to employees that "I will stand firmly on the same side of the fence as you. We will rise together or we will fall together. Not "I will lay you off if it will get me a bigger bonus and raise".

Just as The Giving Pledge, created by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett, is a voluntary pledge by billionaires to give at least half of their wealth to charity, so it is that The Executive Pledge is the following voluntary commitment by CEOs and other corporate executives willing to TRULY get on the same side of the fence as their employees so that both groups either rise together or fall together.

Here is The Executive Pledge:

"In any year in which even a single employee - who has satisfactorily done the job requested by management - nonetheless goes "backwards" in employment, position, pay, and/or benefits, then: (1) there shall be no bonuses of any kind paid to any company managers and executives for that year; and, (2) no managers or executives shall receive a pay increase for the following year."

The premise is clear: if the employee(s) went backwards, it means MANAGEMENT failed, not the employee(s).

CEOs may commit their companies to The Executive Pledge by formally notifying all employees.

Employees, ask your top executives to consider taking The Executive Pledge.
