Our Clarence joined Mayor Angie, U.S. Representative Frank J. Mrvan and community leaders for a tour of Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions, that focused on advanced manufacturing, workforce development, and community investment.

Hitachi Global Air Power has made significant upgrades to its Michigan City operations in recent years, enhancing production capabilities while prioritizing energy efficiency and sustainable practices. These include a $30 million capital investment in the construction of a new 80,000-square-foot fabrication shop, a canopied storage building, an additional parking lot for employees, and optimization of the previous footprint.

“Our Michigan City facility plays a vital role in our global operations, and we are proud to invest in this community. Through innovation, sustainability efforts, and collaboration with local stakeholders, we are building a stronger future together,” said Hideki Fujimoto, President & CEO of Hitachi Global Air Power.

The annual Michigan City Patriotic Parade kicks off at 11 am Saturday June 27 and runs the traditional route on Franklin Street from 10th Street to Ames Field.

The 2nd Annual Braden Fiske Family Fun Day will be from 12:30 pm to 4 pm Saturday June 27 at Ames Field.
Also, Braden is hosting the Great Future Charity Concert to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of LaPorte Co.

We are hosting Indiana Community Development Center, a Ball State-based course, along with the City of Michigan City from Aug. 5-7 at Michigan City City Hall.
Experts with decades of community development experience lead participants through seven core sessions with exercises and conversations facilitated throughout. This training is designed for elected officials, community leaders, engaged citizens, and anyone who is passionate about where they live and dedicated to making it even better.

Indiana Football enjoyed the greatest season in program history, capturing its first outright Big Ten Championship in 80 years, earning its first Rose Bowl berth in 58 years, and making its second consecutive College Football Playoff appearance.
