Matthew 9:35 has one small word in it that changes everything.
Jesus taught and he healed.
Most churches have the first half down. The message gets preached faithfully, week after week. But the AND is where people start listening, because as the old line goes, people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
One church figured this out with something simple. They noticed a lot of parents in their circles who were running on empty, so they opened the doors, fed the kids dinner, ran some games, and gave moms and dads a few hours to themselves. No ad budget. A note in the bulletin and a couple of announcements. Word spread friend to friend, and when the night came, the gym was full of kids.
That is the tell. When you are genuinely filling a need, you don't have to spend thousands convincing people to show up.
Finding your AND takes two things: a real need in your community, and one person in your church with the passion to meet it. That is the whole spark.
So what is your church's AND? Full post here: https://blog.rethinkingevangelism.co/what-is-your-churchs-and
