Solar lights are a type of lighting that use energy from the sun to power the lights. There are two main types of solar lights: indoor lights and outdoor lights.

A. Indoor Lights

Indoor solar lights are designed to be used inside buildings, such as homes, offices, and warehouses. These lights are typically smaller and less powerful than outdoor solar lights.

• Shed Lights: Shed lights are a type of indoor solar light that are designed to be used in sheds, garages, and other small outbuildings. These lights are typically small and compact, and they can be easily mounted on a wall or ceiling.
• Desk Lights: Desk lights are a type of indoor solar light that are designed to be used on a desk or other work surface. These lights are typically small and portable, and they can be easily moved around as needed.

B. Outdoor Lights

Outdoor solar lights are designed to be used outside, in areas such as gardens, yards, and walkways. These lights are typically larger and more powerful than indoor solar lights.

1. Pathway Lights: Pathway lights are a type of outdoor solar light that are designed to be used along pathways, sidewalks, and other walkways. These lights are typically small and low to the ground, and they help to illuminate the path for pedestrians.
2. Spot Lights: Spot lights are a type of outdoor solar light that are designed to be used to highlight specific areas or features in a garden or yard. These lights are typically larger and more powerful than pathway lights, and they can be used to illuminate statues, water features, or other decorative elements.

Many people are hesitant regarding the installation of solar panels because of the misinformation read from unreliable sources or information given by their friends or family. But today, we are going to debunk some of the most common myths about solar panels so that you can make the most of solar energy.

1. Whenever we talk about installing solar panels, the most heard sentence is that they are expensive, but the fact is the cost of solar panels has drastically dropped in the past two decades, making them affordable. And though the installation cost is high, you won’t have to pay the cost all at once. Plus, the state provides various tax incentives that reduce the cost.
2. Solar panels do not have any moving parts and are made with materials that can withstand harsh weather, so they don’t require frequent maintenance. Also, if dust or snow accumulates on the panel, you can easily clean them with water.
3. During cloudy weather or if you live in a state of cold weather, solar panels would generate less power as compared to sunny days. Still, the power generated will be enough to cater to your needs.
4. Solar panels generally do not produce any noise, but if your solar panel starts generating noise, it is because of faulty connections or poor installation.
5. Roof damage from solar panel installation is an extremely rare case. Companies installing solar panels will inspect your roof and see whether it can withstand the additional weight of panels. Also, solar installers provide a warranty if any damage is caused because of their installation. Stories of damaged rooftops result from a lack of research and poor installation process.
6. You might have heard your friends and family say that reselling a house with solar panels is very difficult. But according to National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), every dollar saved on solar energy increases home value by 20$. Also, your home will be appealing to buyers as they get to enjoy the benefits in the upcoming years.

The moon has a fair share of myths associated with it. Apart from supersitions, people also tend to believe that the light it emits is its own. In fact, moonlight is actually a reflection of sun’s light from the lunar surface.

Now another discussion that might arise here is that if the moon emits sun’s energy, shouldn’t solar panels be able to use it to generate electricity? Well, it comes down to the intensity of the light. Moonlight essentially is much lesser in intensity and hence cannot be considered a reliable source of photons to generate electricty using solar panels.

Fun fact - The amount of solar radiation that reaches the earth’s surface is around 1,368 watts per square meter. On the other hand, the moonlight generates around 0.0034 watts per square meter.

Solar energy is abundant, equally accessible to all and costs absolutely nothing to utilize. Among other renewable sources of energy, solar energy has found massive application and wide adoption across domestic and industrial settings. This post discusses a few compelling reasons to install a solar panel system for your home

1. Unlimited Access to Solar Energy -
Transitioning to solar sure involves the initial cost of installation but that’s about it. You do not pay for anything after getting the hardware up and running. Depending on where you live, you will have ample exposure to sunlight during day time; that can be converted and stored into electrical energy to be used by your household appliances later.
2. Reduces Your Electricity Bill -
The primary reason people are increasingly switching to solar panel installations is the reduction in their electricity bills. Solar panels reduce your reliance on the utility grid by a huge margin. As opposed to fully utilising energy from the grid, enabling your house to produce some of its own electricity through solar panels reduces your electricty bills significantly. In optimal cases, you can also make money by selling the excess energy back to the grid.
3. Solar Energy Reduces Carbon Footprint -
Statistics say that solar panel’s carbon footprint is roughly 20 times less than that of coal-powered electricity sources. Solar energy is a clean and renewable source of energy as compared to electricity generated from fossil fuels. A large scale shift of the grid reliant population to solar energy could trigger an immense reduction in the carbon footprint of that topography.
4. Solar Increases the Value of Your Home -
As awareness increases, people tend to understand the importance of a solar system installed on their roof. Which is why majority of new construction can be seen with a an array of solar panels fitted on the top of the roof. Installing a solar array on your house significantly increases its selling and renting value.
5. Tax Incentives -
The government realises the positive impact of domestic solar installation and rewards homeowners with solar panels installed on their homes with tax discounts. Currently, you can qualify for the 26% federal solar Investment Tax Credit if your solar system was installed between 2020 - 2022 and actively generates electricty for a home in the United States.
