Shared hosting is cheaper and beginner-friendly, but your website shares resources with many others. VPS hosting gives you dedicated resources, better performance, and more control. In this video, we compare VPS vs shared hosting and help you choose the right option based on your website size, traffic, and growth goals.

People aren’t usually searching for your brand.
They’re searching for “plumber near me,” “dentist in Westlands,” “driving school Nairobi,” or “best nyama choma in Kilimani.”

Google then decides which businesses deserve to appear.
For local search, three things matter most: relevance, distance, and prominence.

You can’t move your business closer to a customer. But you can make Google understand what you do, where you operate, and whether people trust you.

Here’s where to start.

1. Get your Google Business Profile right

Think of it as your digital shopfront. Keep your business name, category, hours, phone number, website, services and photos complete and accurate. Your category matters too. If you’re a dentist, be listed as a dentist not some vague healthcare category.

2. Use the words customers search

Your customer isn't searching for “integrated oral wellness solutions.”

They’re searching “dentist near me.”

Use natural phrases that describe your service and location. Think service + location + intent.

3. Get genuine reviews

After a successful job, send your Google review link through WhatsApp. Make it easy to leave feedback and respond to the reviews you receive.

Skip the fake reviews. Real customers build real trust.

4. Keep your information consistent

Your Name, Address and Phone number should match across your website, social profiles and directories.

If your website says Westlands but Facebook says Kilimani, you're creating unnecessary confusion.

5. Make your have a website

Your website should quickly answer:
Who are you? What do you offer? Where do you operate? How can I contact you?

If you serve different locations, create genuinely useful pages. Don’t copy one page 30 times and change the location name.

6. Stay active

Update your photos. Keep your hours accurate. Keep your services current. Respond to reviews.

Local SEO isn't something you set up once and forget.
The challenge isn't knowing what to do. It’s keeping up with all of it.

That’s where Truehost LocalForce comes in.

LocalForce helps businesses manage their local visibility, from Google Business Profile activity and review responses to local SEO insights, competitor tracking, photo optimization and regular Google audits.

Treat Google Maps like another storefront for your business.

Because when someone nearby searches for what you sell, being visible at the right moment can be the difference between getting the call and getting ignored.
