I have been waiting for about 6 years to make this post:
Around this time in 2020, I felt this leading, this calling, to maybe start my own pest control business. I had just returned to work for one of the big companies after doing insurance sales in Middleville for 3 years. I loved what I did there, but Covid made it tough. I was thankful to return to the big company, but things happened to fall into place where I thought maybe God had something bigger in mind. I prayed about it, talked to my wife Jodi for probably 100's of hours over the next couple years, and we started to get the ball rolling on KEEN Pest Control. My bosses were great, and I really appreciate them to this day.
It was real scary, but we felt this was what we needed to do. Jodi Nichols and I had a lot on our plates at the time, to say the least, but we pressed on, and are SO thankful that we did. Prov 3:5 and 6 spelled it out pretty clearly for us.
I have been thinking/dreaming since June of 2020 of how we'd be able to hire someone dependable, when that would be, and WHO that would be. I am very happy to announce that David Quist has joined the KEEN Pest Control team as a full time service technician. He's been with us for a couple of months now, and is doing a great job. My number 1 criteria when hiring, was whoever it was, had to have outstanding character. David certainly fits that description. Some of you have gotten to meet him, and have given some appreciated feedback. Thanks for that.
We are definitely not perfect, but we try pretty hard. The wait list is still longer than I want it to be, (sorry about that), to become a valued customer, but we have some pretty big plans to fix that...hopefully soon.
We couldn't have gotten off to a decent start these first 3 years of it just being me full time, without my incredible wife and 3 boys, friends and families' encouragement, and the Lord. There's much room for improvement, but we're trying to be like Coach Harbaugh and get 1% better every day. We've met so many cool people over the past 3 years of being full time, and I am so excited to see where the next couple of years takes us. Every referral, bit of words of wisdome, video from a sweet Christmas tree farm, share, like, comment, picture, small or large way you've encouraged us...extending grace or patience, especially the early months...they all mean so much to Jodi and I.
If you see David, make sure to welcome him to the team, will ya?!
Thanks, again. So much to be thankful for.
