During a recent search at a Federal Reentry Facility in El Paso, Texas, K9 Dexter alerted handlers to suspicious activity near a bank of lockers. After conducting a detailed inspection, Dexter provided a final indication on a specific locker, leading staff to further investigate.

The search resulted in the discovery of approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside a deodorant container.

This case is a reminder that narcotics detection K9s are one of the most effective tools available for maintaining safety and security. Dexter’s training, discipline, and reliability helped remove illegal substances from the facility and contributed to a safer environment for both staff and residents.
