Well gee, I can't believe I'm having such a hard time with this post! I've being trying to write about it since Monday. It should have been an easy post! A celebration!
It was! Yet....very emotional.
I was invited to the Pink the Basin luncheon Oct 1, which begins Breast Cancer Awareness month. The whole week has been an emotional roller coaster. Each time I start to post, I start to cry with a deep emotional hurt. That's all I have to say about that!!!
There were probably a little over thousand people. I'm guessing, 10 people to a table plus maybe over 100 tables?
Anyway, it was a beautiful event. The fashion show was beautiful with the ladies big smiles because each one of the models were survivors. The entertainment was Dinah Jordan, a comedian that also was a survivor.
It was extra special to me because my daughter, Kylie Lindsey was my plus one. We even ran into a couple of friends, Ann Carrillo and Liz Alvarez Madrid. So good to see and celebrate with them.
The emotional part really hit when they asked all the survivors to stand. I was shocked, don't know why, I already knew the statistics. Over 50 ladies stood up proudly!!
Of course, I'm crying my eyes out as usual. (Thank goodness the sponsors thought ahead and gave us all a small pack of tissues in our goody bags, ๐) I got lucky, another lady at our table was there supporting her mother. She was crying, therefore, ๐I was not the only one crying. ๐
All in all, I enjoyed the event and just keep praising and giving thanks to my Father God for all the blessings and the struggles.
Jesus, I Trust in You!!
