The mirror on my cover page is Art Nouveau style. It was popular in Europe but not so much in the United States. It includes furniture and jewelry made from 1890 - 1914. I inherited it from my grandmother who lived in Waverly, VA. She got in from "Cousin Lucille" who lived here in Richmond at the Confederate Widow's Home. The building is now offices of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) where I volunteer twice a month.
Cousin Lucille would tell her cousins "You are my favorite cousin and I plan to leave you all my money." Lots of my mother's family came to see her in this nursing home. I remember going to see her when I would come to VA from SC to see my grandmothers and other relatives in the 1960s
