We know this doesn’t look like the biggest celebration, but we did celebrate this past week, all the hard work our guys and office staff have accomplished over Quarter 2!

Thanks to all their hard work, we are on track to hit some big goals we’ve set for ourselves. We love getting to take some time out of our days to relax, eat and catch up together after our State of the Company meetings.

Armadillo season is here.

Late summer is peak armadillo activity in North Texas. It's their prime nocturnal foraging window, and it's also mating season for nine-banded armadillos, so they're moving and digging more than usual right now.

Seeing torn up turf doesn't automatically mean grubs are the problem. That's the assumption most homeowners jump to first. Armadillos actually eat way more than grubs, worms, beetles, ants, cutworms are all fair game. So grub control alone won't stop the digging.

If an armadillo's the real culprit, trapping and removal is the fix.

If you are trying to figure out how much pest control costs in DFW before you start making calls, here is what we found after calling around to established companies in the area.

Most reputable companies do quarterly applications and the average price for a quarterly package is $120 per application. The first visit is usually a little higher, typically between $130 and $150, and then it settles at $120 after that. The higher first visit cost covers the additional time and product needed to get your home fully treated from the start.

For homeowners who prefer monthly billing, that typically runs between $50 and $60 per month. Worth knowing though: monthly billing does not always mean a company is coming out every single month. Some companies come quarterly or every other month but bill monthly at a prorated rate. The total still comes out to around $50 to $60 per month either way.

So if you are pricing pest control right now, here is your reference point: quarterly runs about $120 per application and monthly billing runs $50 to $60 per month.
