Weekly mowing or bi-weekly mowing? Luke’s answer is simple: go weekly. Always.

Think of it like working out. Eight hours once a month or two to three sessions per week? Weekly mowing cuts less off the grass each time, puts less stress on your turf, and gives you a greener, lusher lawn that is more resistant to disease and insects.

Bi-weekly is only okay if you do not have a sprinkler system and do not have much established turf. Otherwise, go weekly.

Brown patches showing up in your lawn? Before you start watering, read this.

Brown patches can mean overwatering, underwatering, heat stress, grubs, or fungus. The appearance gives you a clue: a dark ring around the patch usually means fungus, and irregular scattered patches usually point to heat stress or a watering issue.

The biggest mistake? Watering a fungus patch. It makes it spread. Always identify the problem first.
