UPDATE: AS OF 3:30 SUNDAY AFTERNOON THE 100 AND 200 BLOCKS OF KELCHNER ARE STILL CLOSED DUE A TREE DOWN ON THE POWER LINE AND HANGING LOW ACROSS THE ROAD.
PPL HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND THEY WERE ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THIS CREATES A LIMITED ACCESS SHOULD EMERGENCY VEHICLES NEED TO ACCESS THE SECTION OF ROAD PAST THE TREE.

Personnel and B225 currently on Kelchner Rd with a tree down on wires and blocking the roadway.

Drainage Improvement Project Begins Next Week on Market Street in Mifflin Township, Columbia County



Montoursville, PA – A drainage improvement project will take place on Market Street (Route 2028) between Center Drive and Hetlerville Road (Route 2028)/Snyder School Road in Mifflinville, Mifflin Township, Columbia County, starting on Monday, June 8. Work on the project includes excavation, drainage upgrades, back fill, and paving.



Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM where work is being performed.



Sikora Brothers Paving, Inc., is the prime contractor for this drainage improvement project, sponsored by Mifflin Township. Work on the project is anticipated to be completed in July, weather permitting.

Tanker 224 and brush 225 (manpower) are currently operating at a 3 alarm fire in bloomsburg.

Just after 2pm the tones dropped for a brush fire in the area of interstate 80 mile marker 245.. captain 220 requested brush 210 ( Main Township Volunteer Fire Company to respond out towards hetlerville to investigate. Brush 225 located a control burn in the area of Yeager rd. Brush 225 brush 210 extinguished the fire. Captain 220 released everyone and cleared rhe box just before 3pm.

Our department is upgrading our fleet with a new Tanker-Pumper, and will be retiring our 1999 unit. We appreciate the support provided by Carl of Columbia Fire Apparatus and everyone at Spencer Manufacturing, Inc., whose professional guidance and patience were instrumental during the specification phase. The committee met for a pre-construction conference yesterday and anticipates a smooth process with all parties involved.
