I've found that as an editor, I don't read much for fun. But one of my goals for this year is to make time for fun. So I started reading this the other night. It feels like a reunion with an old friend--the part of me that loves to read. It was like my soul gave a sigh of relief.

Celebrating the start of summer with the first of the crop. I assumed, with all our rain and gloom here in the PNW, that there would be no berries yet. Then I wandered outside, not expecting anything, and WOW! Beautiful and delicious. It's a good life lesson. Just because we don't think good things are in store for us, good things have been moving along despite our low expectations.

I edit both fiction and nonfiction, and I love it. Memoir, however, humbles me with its power. I've seen over and over how memoirists free themselves by writing and releasing their stories. I love when someone shares their truth and adds their story to our shared history.
