We can finally share the before and after restoration image of this baroque-style painting from the late 17th century.
It has been documented with UV lights that the painting has undergone extensive and heavy restoration many times in the past years.
We think that the main reasons for the deformations on the painting surface are the restoration works done in the past.
The entire painting underwent a re-lining process, and the glue paste used during this process lost its function over time due to environmental conditions.
The glue, which had already lost its binding properties, began to break away from the canvas and crumble. This problem caused a gap between the re-lined canvas and the painting and subsequently caused swelling.
Within the scope of the work, we solved the structural and aesthetic problems with long-term heat and pressure treatments with modern and more suitable restoration adhesives to
re-adhere the artwork to the re-lined canvas and eliminate the gaps.
We would like to remind you that in addition to the fact that every material we use for the paintings is reversible, we also give a lifetime quality guarantee to our restoration treatments.
