πŸ˜‚ FITNESS CONFESSIONS

Let's see how honest we can be...

Have you ever:

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Put on your workout clothes and then decided you weren't actually working out?

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Counted a walk around the grocery store as exercise?

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Done one exercise and decided you deserved a snack?

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Been excited when someone canceled plans because it meant you could stay home?

πŸ˜‚ No judgment here!

I'll go first...

Sometimes getting dressed for the workout feels like 50% of the workout.

πŸ‘‡ Your turn. What's your fitness confession?

Hey there gang πŸ‘‹πŸ»! Here is the September workout class schedule. I will be taking a few days off at the beginning of the month to work at the State Fair πŸŽ‘πŸŒπŸ„. I plan to start night classes back up in October, so be on the lookout for that. There is always room for one more in class, so if you have been thinking about getting started, now is a GREAT time.

πŸ₯ YESTERDAY'S FITNESS QUIZ ANSWER!

The answer was...

πŸ‘‰ B β€” Quadriceps! πŸ’ͺ

Your quadriceps are the muscles on the front of your thighs, and they help straighten your knee.

They're working when you:

πŸͺ‘ Stand up from a chair
πŸͺœ Climb stairs
🚢 Walk
πŸ‹οΈ Squat
πŸ›’ Push or carry things

Which is exactly why strengthening your legs isn't just about getting stronger at the gym.

It's about making everyday life easier.

And yes, your legs are allowed to complain during squats. πŸ˜‚

That's their way of filing a formal complaint with management.

πŸ’ͺ WHY YOUR CORE IS MORE THAN YOUR ABS

When you hear "core workout," do you immediately picture 100 crunches? πŸ˜‚

Your core is actually a whole team of muscles that helps stabilize your body while you move.

A strong core can help with:

βœ”οΈ Posture
βœ”οΈ Balance
βœ”οΈ Stability
βœ”οΈ Lifting and carrying
βœ”οΈ Everyday movement

And here's the important part...

You don't have to spend 20 minutes doing crunches to train it!

Squats, rows, carries, presses, lunges, and many other exercises require your core to work too.

Your core isn't just something you train. It's something you use all day long.

πŸ‘‡ What's your favorite core exerciseβ€”or the one you love to hate? πŸ˜‚

β˜€οΈ MONDAY REAL TALK
Here's something we don't talk about enough:
You don't have to feel motivated to exercise.
Sometimes you will wake up ready to conquer the world. πŸ’ͺ
Other days...

You will stare at your workout shoes like they personally offended you. πŸ˜‚
That's normal.
Motivation comes and goes.
Habits and routines are what keep you moving when motivation takes the day off.
So don't ask:
"Do I feel like working out today?"

Try asking:
πŸ‘‰ "What can I do today that will make me feel better afterward?"
Maybe it's a full workout.
Maybe it's a walk.

Maybe it's 10 minutes of movement.

It all counts.

πŸ’› You don't have to be motivated. You just have to get started.

πŸ‘‡ Be honest: Are you a "let's get this done!" person on Monday morning or a "where's my coffee?" person? πŸ˜‚

✨ SUNDAY RESET ✨

Before the week gets busy, take a look at your calendar and ask yourself:
"When can I realistically fit in movement this week?"
Not when you wish you had time.
Not when your schedule is magically perfect.
When can you actually make it happen?

πŸ“… Put your workouts on the calendar.
πŸ‘Ÿ Set your clothes out.
πŸ’§ Fill your water bottle.
πŸ’ͺ Make the appointment with yourself.

And if having a scheduled class helps keep you accountable, I've got you covered!
I currently have openings for both in-person exercise classes AND online training. πŸ’»πŸ’ͺ

Whether you love the energy of being in a group or prefer the convenience of working out from home, there's an option for you.

πŸŽ‰ SATURDAY FITNESS THIS OR THAT!

No overthinking. Pick one from each pair!

β˜€οΈ Morning workout OR evening workout?

🎧 Music OR no music?

πŸ‹οΈ Strength training OR cardio?

πŸ‘Ÿ Workout shoes OR barefoot?

🏠 Home workout OR group class?

πŸ’¦ Workout first OR coffee first? πŸ˜‚

Remember: you are allowed to choose pizza. πŸ˜†

🌈πŸ₯— LET'S MAKE LUNCH PRETTIER!

Here's an easy healthy-eating trick:
Look at your plate and ask:
"How many colors do I see?"
Try adding a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables throughout the day.

For example:
πŸ₯¬ Green β€” spinach or broccoli
πŸ… Red β€” tomatoes or peppers
🫐 Blue/purple β€” berries
πŸ₯• Orange β€” carrots or sweet potatoes
🍌 Yellow β€” squash or fruit

You don't have to count calories.
You don't have to weigh your broccoli. πŸ˜‚
Just start thinking about adding more variety to your plate.
Bonus: colorful meals tend to look a whole lot more appetizing too!
πŸ‘‡ Challenge yourself today: How many colors can you get on one plate?

πŸ’‘ MOVEMENT TIP OF THE WEEK

Let's talk about something we do ALL the time without thinking about it:
Picking something up from the floor.
Instead of simply bending forward through your back, think about a hip hinge.

Try this:
1️⃣ Stand tall with your feet about hip-width apart.
2️⃣ Keep your spine long.
3️⃣ Push your hips backward.
4️⃣ Allow your knees to bend slightly.
5️⃣ Keep the object you're picking up close to your body.
6️⃣ Drive through your feet and hips to stand.

Think:
"Hips back... chest proud... stand tall."
This movement pattern shows up in everything from picking up laundry to lifting a box.
And yes... your trainer will absolutely notice your hip hinge. πŸ˜‚

πŸ‘‡ Have you ever been told to "lift with your legs"?
