Established in 2004, The Shadowserver Foundation gathers intelligence on the darker side of the internet. Our mission is to understand and help put a stop to high stakes cybercrime in the information age.

General information

Shadowserver is incorporated in the State of New Jersey within the United States as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. We are recognized formally by the United States Department of Charities and the United States IRS as a legal entity under those guidelines. Shadowserver is run by all volunteers that do not receive any compensation from The Shadowserver Foundation for their work or efforts. Shadowserver is a completely independent organization that is managed and operated solely by its members under the direction of an executive team. All initiatives and execution of its process is initiated and carried out by the Shadowserver members. No dayjob employer of any Shadowserver member has any role in the management or direction of The Shadowserver Foundation.
