Today we say good-bye to our long time technician and great friend Roger Friday. Roger spent his last day on the road today and will be relocating to Florida very soon. He will be missed by both our company and his loyal clients. Wishing you all the best in retirement and thank you for your years of dedication.

Do you know why the lights on the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet are blue at night?

According to Delaware Seashore State Park, it's because of bats! "Bats have an internal magnetic compass to orient themselves in the night sky. This compass depends on wavelengths of light to tell the creature where it is or where it needs to go. Unlike other colors, blue light does not disorient them during nighttime hunting, guiding their natural compass in the right direction. All bat species in our state feed on insects, so a successful bat compass equals successful insect control in the park!"

EDIT: The color of the lighting was also chosen to reduce impacts on migratory birds, as well as bats.
