The AI hack that saved me hours this week — and most business owners don’t even know it exists.

It’s called a Custom GPT (or a “system prompt” if you’re using other tools).
Here’s what it does: instead of explaining who you are, what your business does, and what tone you want EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. — you set it once, and AI remembers it forever.

I set mine up with:
→ My business name and mission
→ My ideal client description
→ My brand voice (warm, direct, professional)
→ The services I offer
→ What I never want AI to say

Now when I open ChatGPT, it already knows I’m Tangie Cokes. It responds like my own personal assistant — not a stranger I have to re-introduce myself to every time.
This saves me 30–45 minutes a week minimum.

Here’s how to set yours up:
→ Go to ChatGPT → Settings → Personalization → Custom Instructions
→ In the first box: tell it who you are and what you do
→ In the second box: tell it exactly how you want it to respond

That’s it. 5 minutes. One time. Massive return.

They type one sentence and wonder why the answer sounds generic. Here’s what no one tells you:

AI gives you back exactly what you give it. Garbage in, garbage out.
The secret? Write your prompts like you’re hiring a contractor.
Instead of: “ Write me an email to a client.”
Say this: “You are a professional business consultant. Write a follow-up email to a client who ghosted my proposal 2 weeks ago. Keep it warm but confident. No more than 5 sentences. End with a soft call to action.”

Same tool. Completely different result.

This is called prompt engineering — and it’s the #1 skill I teach every business owner I work with. You don’t need to know how to code. You just need to know how to communicate.
