“For every child who has found a little bit of magic through creativity, and for those still discovering it. Stay curious. Keep exploring. Trust the people who believe in you, and don’t be afraid to try something new. You never know what wonderful things might happen when you open yourself up to possibility.”
— Misty Copeland
On Monday, I had the privilege of being in the room at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Presidents Society Luncheon at the Pfister Hotel, where Misty Copeland — Boys & Girls Club Alumni Hall of Fame honoree, former Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre, author, and advocate, reminded a room full of Milwaukee’s leaders why arts access is not a luxury. It is a lifeline.
I wasn’t just there as a guest. CC Consulting Group is the lead Arts & Culture Strategy partner for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, building a city-wide infrastructure for arts and cultural programming across all 43 club sites. This moment affirmed exactly why this work exists.
Milwaukee’s next generation deserves to see themselves in spaces like this, and to have the programs, the mentors, and the opportunities waiting for them when they show up. We are building that. 🖤
