Ways to Reduce Your Sugar Intake
Even if you don’t eat a lot of candies and drink sodas, chances are you’re still consuming added sugar from other foods. Here are some tips to further reduce your sugar intake:
1. Be aware that some ketchups and sauces can be high in added sugar. Check labels.
2. Read ingredient labels and avoid items with “high fructose corn syrup.” That stands for added sugar.
3. When baking, substitute sugar for natural sweeteners like (unsweetened) applesauce.
4. For dessert, have lots of fruit on hand.
