The COVID-19 pandemic has forced architects to relook at how they design buildings. As a result, it’s creating big business for companies that specializes in creating hygienic systems, including one in the Milwaukee area.

Childhood cancer is the worst. It's beyond heartbreaking to see kids suffer, and beyond inspirational to see them beat it. My knee is solid, and I'm ready to raise $$ for the MACC Fund. 24 of us are setting off early on April 30 to play 100 holes (my back hurts writing this). I hope you'll consider donating - all proceeds go directly to the MACC Fund. The aches and pains will be so worth it, and your dollars are worth even more to the kids!!

Punch Bowl Social Milwaukee Wi opened this weekend at the Milwaukee Bucks' Entertainment Block, and it rocked (and rolled). When we crafted the vision for the Entertainment Block we started with people. In today's market, the data is solid - experiences win. A shared experience wins more. And, more people means more sharing.

The 'productive collisions' that result from an intentionally curated mix of uses and built environments are what define the success of mixed use development. A packed and transparent 2nd floor, and a line out the door, mean that Punch Bowl Social is helping to establish a 'wall' of activity for the outdoor room that is the Plaza. And, what a fun wall it is. Congratulations to Punch Bowl Social and welcome to Milwaukee!

We can't wait to see the full realization of all of this when Good City Brewing, Punch Bowl Social Milwaukee Wi, Milwaukee Bucks, the new Mecca sports bar and the Plaza are fully cranking...

Oh, and did we mention the DNC coming to MKE in 2020? Now that will be a LOT of productive collisions!!

Sean Phelan isn't on Facebook, so I'm tagging his incredible wife Lucía Román so she can let him know we're cheering for him and Work Lofts. Small buildings done well are the heart of their neighborhoods. And this building hits it out of the park. Kudos!

The building 2140-50 N. Prospect Ave. isn't large, but you can't miss it because of its striking exterior. Built in 1934 as headquarters for the Milwaukee-Western Fuel Company, the building was designed by hometown architect Herbert Tullgren, who drew a two-story Art Deco gem of a building.
