Our Story

Horseshoe Chef Table @Heaven City I created my Chef Table to offer both foodies and fun seekers a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Whether 2 or 14 guests – best friends or total strangers – it’s an intimate, casual, unforgettable evening. Since my lovely wife and I live here, think of it as visiting my home and hanging out with me as I cook you an amazing array of fun things to eat. Dinner is served in the private atrium, at the Horseshoe Chef Table designed by me, hand-crafted by my father – beneath the towering rubber tree gifted to Heaven City by Al Capone in the late 1920’s. Every Chef Table menu is totally unique. The meal consists of seven courses of imaginative “micro plates” – in essence, an array of gourmet tasting. Each menu is customized for that night’s guests, based entirely on individual likes and dislikes, any allergies, diet restrictions, etc. You set the parameters, but you don't know what you are getting until it arrives in front of you. That’s part of the fun, trying to guess the menu items and direction I am heading while the plates evolve before your eyes. Not a meal … an experience! It all starts at 6pm with a social gathering in the bar with everyone who will be sharing the table. Typically, we move to the atrium between 6:45-7pm. For the entirety of the meal, you will have my undivided attention as I prepare, cook, plate and serve every course in front of the whole table. But I don’t just cook for you, I engage you. It’s a night of storytelling. About the fascinating evolution of Heaven City – the history, gangsters, the ghosts. About the restaurant business itself. And for foodies, what, how and why I’m doing something, as I do it. Building flavors. Creating the perfect balance of color, contrast and texture. How to achieve these unique aspects that can take your own cooking to a different level. Things usually wrap up just around 10pm, but let’s call it 11pm so your baby sitter isn't upset. Pricing. The standard rate is $180 per person. This includes taxes and food gratuities but not drinks. For a premium upgrade to $230 per person, you may have an open bar and all you can drink (responsibly, of course). Discounts may be available for cash payment, return customers, larger parties, flexible times & dates. (If you’ve purchased a Groupon, please see the separate Groupon sheet.) Reservations. This is not a normal reservation, but rather a private booking with me as your private chef. Please email me at [email protected] or for the fastest response text me at 414-839-8836. Cancellation/Refunds. Since this is a private booking, I’ve reserved the time, and often already personally, shopped for the unique menu items, cancellations/refunds are not issued except in extreme cases.
