I think my multi tool is the power tool I utilize the most during demolition work. It allows me to make precise cuts, nip of problem material etc. Just trying to show the thought that needs to go into even demolition work. Primarily you have to think about what comes next for that space in terms of the build back. In this case I need to install new trim on the old plaster. Just ripping nails could leave chunks missing that’ll then make the trim want to sit incorrectly.

This is selective demolition. In total this video was almost 8 min long sped up to 45 sec and most of it was just prep work before getting around to actually pulling the trim. I needed to protect the wall above, the floor, and ensure I did not damage the old plaster behind the trim so that I could glue and screw the new trim on. So much of selective demolition is all the time that goes into ensuring you protect the items that are not being removed. Not that I don’t make mistakes from time to time, but I do my best to take my time and minimize the risk of collateral. On Point Construction & Design

Some days you leave the job feeling like you’re wearing the job. Dirty work, but I love being a part of these old building renovations. This is the start of a remodel of an 1890 home here in Minden. Stay tuned for more pics as I continue to clear out!
